|
Location. The Historic Inns of Annapolis is a trio of inns located directly across from the Maryland State Capitol and the eateries, art galleries, boutiques and 18th century homes along Main Street. Waterfront boats may be chartered at the end of Main Street, one half mile from the inn. Additional sites within one mile include St. Anne’s Church, Hammond Harwood House and the U.S. Naval Academy. Hotel Features. The Maryland Inn, the Governor Calvert House and the Robert Johnson House comprise the Historic Inns of Annapolis, once home to Declaration of Independence signers, governors and lords. These inns date as far back as the year 1727. Original and reproduction antiques accent each inn and provide a glimpse into the nation’s past. The Maryland Inn’s Treaty of Paris Restaurant serves regional cuisine. Lively scenes along Main Street unfold outside the windows at Drummer’s Lot Pub. Function rooms accommodate up to 200 attendees. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout all three inns. Business amenities include fax and photocopy services. The Maryland Inn houses a 24 hour fitness facility. Guestrooms. Renovated in 2006, the Historic Inns of Annapolis offers 124 guestrooms distributed among three buildings. All accommodations feature antique furnishings and beds with pillowtop mattresses and feather pillows. Bathrooms are stocked with Bath & Body Works toiletries. Technological upgrades include flat panel televisions, MP3 adaptors and complimentary wireless Internet access. Expert Tip. A unique feature of the hotel, the Calvert House’s famous Hypocaust greenhouse is visible through a glass window set into the lobby floor. A tunnel once connected The Maryland Inn with the State House. The tunnel’s brick wall is still visible from the basement level Starbucks. |
